We have developed our own cross-platform engine that allows us to create games with excellent graphics and gameplay. Using our custom engine, we created the mobile shooter Battle Prime that has gained over 17 million installs and holds a rating above 4.5 in the App Store and Google Play.

We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Material Artist to help create realistic and stylized materials for a globally renowned game project. In this role, you will be responsible for the visual quality of surfaces in the game—from metal and concrete to fabrics and natural textures. The ideal candidate has a strong artistic sense, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of the PBR pipeline.

Responsibilities

-Creating high-quality procedural and hand-crafted materials using Substance Designer, Substance Painter, and other specialized tools. Ā 

-Setting up and optimizing PBR materials for the engine while maintaining visual consistency within the artistic style of the project. Ā 

-Collaborating with artists, level designers, and technical specialists to integrate materials into the game world. Ā 

-Developing and maintaining the studio's material library. Ā 

-Contributing to the development of pipelines and recommendations for material creation.

What skills will you use

- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Material Artist or in a related role.
- Proficiency in Substance Designer, Substance Painter, and Photoshop.
- Understanding of physically based rendering (PBR) principles and various shader types.
- Skills in creating seamless and procedural textures, generating normals, height maps, and masks.
- Knowledge of lighting basics, rendering, and the impact of materials on performance.
- Artistic sensibility, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze and recreate realistic materials.
- Understanding of working with game-ready assets.

Bonus skills:
- Experience working with Photogrammetry.
- Knowledge of Houdini and procedural pipelines.
- Experience in creating materials for AAA projects.
- Skills in working with shader graphs or custom shaders.
- Understanding of platform technical limitations and material optimization for them.
